In winter or summer our wide-open cool barns stay comfortable. Our rolling irrigated pastures stay lush. Our vast experience in laying-up and rehabilitating race horses combine to get your horse back to the races and happy.

Boarding Young Stock

Don't leave your weanlings at the mercy of the weather. They need lots of green grass and plenty of room to run all year long. They need a feeding program especially designed to reduce the incidence of OCD in young horses, and of course our large green pastures and mild climate enable youngsters to graze and play and live as nature intended (thereby reducing the occurrence of gastric ulcers also). We take care of the whole horse.

Irrigated Pastures and One-Mile Grass Gallop

Fully irrigated pastures of coastal Bermuda grass in warm weather and rye in winter offer excellent year-round grazing. Young horses love our long European-style grass gallop which also provides secure, soft footing for reconditioning older horses.

Driving Directions

From I-95:

At Santee (via Exit 98) take Hwy 6 through Elloree to St Matthews. From the stoplight at the intersection with Hwy 601, travel 0.6 mile and turn right on Herlong Avenue (S-9-24). Go 0.2 mile to 4-way stop; turn left on Calhoun Road (S-9-21). Travel one mile and turn right on Blacksmith Lane (S-9-434). The barn will be on your right.

From Camden via Hwy 601:

In St. Matthews, at stoplight, turn right on Hwy 6. Follow the above directions.

From Charleston by I-26:

Take Hwy 601 (via Exit 145) to St. Matthews. At stoplight, turn left onto Hwy 6. Follow above directions.

From Columbia by I-26:

Take Hwy 6 (via Exit 136) toward St. Matthews. Turn right at the junction with Hwy 176, then take the left fork when Hwy 6 and Hwy 176 diverge. Travel 1.5 miles then turn left on Wild Rose (S-9-330). Go 1.4 miles on Wild Rose (slight jog right as you cross Doodle Hill Road). Turn left on Calhoun Road (S-9-21). Go 0.2 mile and turn right onto Blacksmith Lane (S-9-434). The barn will be on your right.
